Amy J. (Paysen) Herbig, M.D.
Dr. Herbig completed her undergraduate education at Wayne State College and received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Medicine in 2003. She completed her residency in family medicine through UNMC’s Rural Training Track in Kearney, in 2006. Dr. Herbig is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has been a member of Family Practice Associates PC since 2006. Dr. Herbig and her husband, Kris, have two children, Joe and Olivia.
Robert C. Messbarger, M.D.
Dr. Messbarger graduated from Kearney State College and received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Medicine in 1990. He completed his family practice residency through UNMC in Lincoln in 1993. Dr. Messbarger is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has been a member of Family Practice Associates PC since 1993. Dr. Messbarger and his wife, Lora, have five children, Nathan, Peter, Kelly, Robert, and Nicole.
Jessica M. Hatch, M.D.
Dr. Hatch received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her residency through UNMC's Family Medicine Rural Training Track at Kearney in June 2013. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine. Dr. Hatch joined Family Practice Associates PC in August 2013. Dr. Hatch and her husband, Rocky, have two daughters and a son, Harper, Hoyt, and Maisie.
Kyle S. Myers, M.D.
Dr. Myers received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2013. He then completed his residency through the UNMC Rural Residency Program in Kearney, spending his final two years at Family Practice Associates PC. Dr. Myers joined Family Practice Associates PC as a full-time provider in July 2016. He and his wife, Julie, have three sons named Noah, Jacob, and Peter. He is accepting new patients.
Scott J. Wewel, M.D.
Dr. Wewel received his undergraduate degree from Chadron State College and his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2013. He then completed his residency program through the University of Kansas Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Wewel joined Family Practice Associates PC in July, 2016. He and his wife, Alyssa, have one son, Jack.
Dr. Wewel's last day will be January 31, 2023. He will be seeing his established patients throughout January. Patients should contact us at 308-865-2767 to choose a new provider after his departure. We look forward to continuing the excellent care he has provided during his time with us.
Kassandra M. Davis, M.D.
Dr. Davis completed her undergraduate degree at Wayne State College and received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Medicine in 2015. She completed her family practice residency through UNMC’s Rural Residency Tract in Grand Island in 2018She joined Family Practice Associates PC on July 16, 2018, and provides a full range of family care services, including OB care. Dr. Davis is married to Tim. Dr. Davis is accepting new patients.
Jami Pritschau, M.D.
Dr. Pritschau completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Wesleyan University where she was a member of the NWU track and field team. She received her medical degree from UNMC in 2017 before beginning her residency in Kearney. Dr. Pritschau joined Family Practice Associates PC in August 2020 and is accepting new patients. She provides a full range of family care services, including OB Care. Dr. Pritschau is married to Adam.
Nathan Harms, M.D.
Dr. Harms completed his undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney through the KHOP program. He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, before beginning his residency. Dr. Harms will spend his second and third years of residency here at Family Practice Associates starting July, 2022. He is married to Mallory. Dr. Harms is open for appointments and accepting new patients.
Holly Groteluschen, M.D.
Dr. Groteluschen completed her undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2020, before beginning her residency. Dr. Groteluschen will spend her second and third years of residency here at Family Practice Associates. She was born and raised in Columbus, Nebraska and is married to Travis, also from Columbus. Dr. Groteluschen is accepting new patients.
Shelby Liesemeyer, M.D.
Dr. Liesemeyer completed her undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2020, before beginning her residency. Dr. LIesemeyer will spend her second and third years of residency here at Family Practice Associates. She was born and raised in Red Cloud, Nebraska, and is married to Kirk. They have two children. Dr. Liesemeyer is accepting new patients.
Cynthia A. Mehlin, P.A. - C
Cindy Mehlin completed her undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln before obtaining her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Medicine in 1996. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and joined Family Practice Associates PC in 2011. Mehlin and her husband, Ken, have three children, Erin, Ashton, and Ellise. Cindy sees patients in our Walk-In Area.
Laura A. Hatch, P.A. - C
Laura Hatch completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska at Kearney before earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Medicine in 2004. Laura is board certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She joined Family Practice Associates PC in 2012.
Tara Stecklein, P.A. - C
Tara Stecklein completed her undergraduate studies at Newman University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology before earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2011. Tara joined Family Practice Associates PC in July 2018.Tara recently began to take scheduled patients, as well, and is available for wellness visits and chronic care visits. LeAnne Larson, ARNP-NP
LeAnne Larson completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center at Kearney before earning her Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner at Clarkson College in 2014. LeAnne joined Family Practice Associates PC in 2015. LeAnne sees patients in our Walk-In Area.
Michaela Parrish, P.A.-C
Michaela Parrish completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln before earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at UNMC in 2018. Michaela is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She joined Family Practice Associates PC in 2022. Michaela sees patients in our Walk-In Area.

Kayla Steenson, P.A. - C
Kayla Steenson completed her undergraduate degree at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln before earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at UNMC in 2017. Kayla is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Kayla joined Family Practice Associates PC in 2018, and sees patients in our walk-in area.
Michael C. Renner, Ph.D.
Counseling Psychology
Dr. Renner completed his undergraduate education at Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri, and received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri in 1974. Dr. Renner joined Family Practice Associates PC in July 2019. Dr. Renner and his wife, Dr. Carol Renner, have two children, Christopher and Matthew. Dr. Renner will retire in late March, 2023.
